About Rob Schmitt:
Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Rob graduated from the Indiana University Ernie Pyle School of Journalism. He quickly gained recognition for uncovering major news stories and most recently anchored “Fox & Friends First.”
Starting in local news, Schmitt advanced to roles at ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News Channel, covering significant events like the California wildfires and hurricanes Harvey, Gustav, and Hanna. He reported from Haiti 48 hours after the devastating earthquake that killed over 300,000 people, and covered the deportation of 95-year-old Nazi death camp guard Jakiw Palij from Queens, New York.
Schmitt’s diverse experience across various media markets provides him with a unique perspective on the news industry, allowing him to connect with Americans in often overlooked “flyover states.”
