INDIE ROCK FROM THE GREAT LAKES!

Niles, Michigan’s The Erly came together in late 2017, founded by vocalist/bassist Collin Mattiford and vocalist/drummer Fran Gleason. Guitarist and vocalist Trevor McDonald soon joined the lineup, turning a last-minute “musician wanted” ad into a Craigslist success story. The band has since released three albums—Shadows (2018), Reckless (2021), and Culture Fever (2023)—building a loyal regional following with tracks like “Flame The Main,” “Red Roof Inn,” “Hey Amanda,” and “Jasmine.”

The band’s trajectory took a sharp turn with the addition of keyboardist Simon Kauffman Hurst and the release of Salem Lights (2024). Featuring the singalong anthem “55 On The Other Side,” the album propelled The Erly onto the national stage, where they performed alongside acts like Sixpence None The Richer, Cracker, and Max.

Blending structure with spontaneity, The Erly delivers a “jam-adjacent” live sound that evolves with every performance. Their style weaves folk and Americana-inspired vocal harmonies with elements of jazz, rock, funk, and soul, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.

On August 21, 2026, The Erly will release Midnight River Show, their fifth studio album.
