SUMMARY:Friends of The Lerner presents: Catapult - Magic Shadows
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n \n Ticket & Hotel Packages\n \n \n \n \n \n \nCatapult is\, technically\, a shadow dance company. What it really is: a theatrical art form that is an amazingly imaginative combination of dance\, story-telling\, and sculpture. Founded in 2009\, by Adam Battlestein (choreographer\, Creative Director and Master Teaching Artist for Pilobolus Dance Theatre for 19 years)\, Catapult catapulted to fame on Season 8 of America’s Got Talent\, earning their way to the finals of the NBC-TV hit show. \nCatapult is all about the human body and its ability to transform. The talented Catapult dancers work behind a screen to create seemingly impossible dancing shadow silhouettes of shapes from the world around us. You won’t believe your eyes as you watch these incredible dancers become a mountain\, a full size elephant\, a helicopter\, a house with a window and people inside the window. You will never figure out how they do it\, and you won’t know what they will make next – you will be surprised and delighted again and again. Audiences of all ages love what appear to be effortless transformations and applaud over and over as more and more unbelievable images appear. \nCatapult’s “Magic Shadows” show is packed with hundreds of shape transformations\, and it is full of humor\, emotion\, and fully realized stories engagingly told through music and shadows.  With the arc of an arm\, the point of a toe or the twist of a torso\, Catapult’s dancers stretch their bodies\, and your imaginations\, telling stories with humor and pathos by transforming magically from one shape to another. See Vivaldi’s Four Seasons spring to life\, be amazed as you watch their bodies transform into a mountain\, an elephant\, a dragon even a helicopter\, and travel the world from Paris to Beijing in under 10 minutes! Animated by the dancers’ shadows\, every cinematic scene in Magic Shadows is a kaleidoscope of colorful storytelling that will awe and astound you. A great show for the whole family – full of laughs\, emotions and miraculous transformations.  You will leave this show dazed and happy\, and you will never look at your own shadow the same way again! \n\n \n Get Tickets\n \n Ticket & Hotel Packages

SUMMARY:Elkhart County Symphony - Verdi Requiem
DESCRIPTION:Get Elkhart County Symphony Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \nVerdi Requiem – Feb. 14\, 2027Sauder Concert Hall\, Goshen College Music Center\nThe emotional and artistic centerpiece of Season 79 arrives in February with Verdi’s monumental Messa da Requiem\, one of the most powerful choral-orchestral works ever written. \nThis annual Sauder Concert Hall performance\, presenting collaborations with the Camerata Singers and Goshen College Choirs\, continues one of the Symphony’s most cherished traditions while elevating the scale and ambition to extraordinary heights. \nComparable in emotional scope and significance to monumental works such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony\, Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony\, and Mozart’s Requiem\, Verdi’s masterpiece combines operatic intensity with spiritual gravity in a work that remains among the most overwhelming live experiences in classical music. \nThe performance will feature soloists Jenny Ribeiro and Goshen College faculty members Roz Woll and Scott Hochstetler. The Camerata Singers will additionally be featured as an ensemble—performing their own work—with the support of the Symphony\, further highlighting the collaborative spirit at the heart of the evening. \nWith its thunderous drama\, immense vocal demands\, and deeply human emotional range\, Verdi Requiem stands as one of the defining artistic statements of the season—and one of the largest productions the Symphony has undertaken in recent years. \nAs audiences know well\, the Symphony’s annual Goshen College performances at Sauder Concert Hall frequently sell out well in advance! \nRepertoire Highlights\n\nVerdi — Messa da Requiem\nAdditional selections featuring the Camerata Singers\n\nIndividual tickets for Elkhart County Symphony – Verdi Requiem will be sold through the Goshen College Box Office and are available January 1st at 9:00 a.m. All other Elkhart County Symphony tickets will be sold through The Lerner Theatre Box Office and Ticketmaster.com.  \n\n \n Get Elkhart County Symphony Tickets

SUMMARY:Elkhart County Symphony - Planetary Finale
DESCRIPTION:Get Elkhart County Symphony Tickets\n \n Ticket & Hotel Packages\n \n \n \n \n \n \nPlanetary Finale – May 16\, 2027\nSeason 79 concludes with its most expansive and imaginative program: Planetary Finale\, a concert exploring wonder\, creation\, rhythm\, and the limitless possibilities of human imagination. \nThe evening opens with a bold contemporary collaboration featuring acclaimed percussion ensemble pax duo—Tristan Swihart and Micah Detweiler—whose innovative and theatrical approach to percussion performance brings a striking modern energy to the season finale. \nKnown for blending classical music with elements of indie\, hip-hop\, funk\, electronics\, and multimedia performance\, pax duo has strong ties to Goshen through Detweiler’s role on the Goshen College music faculty and the ensemble’s work hosting the Midwest Chamber Percussion Camp on campus. Their creative\, genre-crossing approach has earned them recognition throughout the Midwest and made them a vibrant part of the region’s artistic community. \nThe program also includes Gustav Holst’s towering masterpiece\, The Planets. One of the most ambitious and influential orchestral works in the symphonic repertoire\, The Planets remains a staggering achievement of musical storytelling\, transporting audiences through cosmic landscapes of war\, peace\, joy\, aging\, mystery\, and transcendence. Enhanced by visual and astronomy-inspired elements\, the performance invites audiences into a sweeping sensory journey through both outer space and human imagination itself. \nFor Dr. Soo Han\, the relationship between music and the cosmos feels deeply connected. \n“The connection between space and music is tangible\,” he said. “Music and space are connected through the vastness of possibilities and the unknown—new creations\, wonderment\, vehicles to inspire exploration and odysseys. It is a celebration of human senses and imagination.” \nFollowing the grandeur and scale of Holst’s celestial masterpiece\, the season concludes with the sparkling joy of Zequinha Abreu’s Tico-Tico\, a lively and celebratory finale that sends audiences into the Symphony’s landmark 80th season with exhilaration\, energy\, and optimism—the perfect final flourish to Stories & Sound: Prelude to 80. \nRepertoire Highlights\n\nThe Elkhart County Symphony and pax duo — selected works\nHolst — The Planets\n\nMars\, the Bringer of War\nVenus\, the Bringer of Peace\nJupiter\, the Bringer of Jollity\nSaturn\, the Bringer of Old Age\n\n\nZequinha Abreu — Tico-Tico\n\n\n \n Get Elkhart County Symphony Tickets\n \n Ticket & Hotel Packages
