A pianist and organist well known to local audiences\, the artist has appeared on numerous occasions with the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra\, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra\, the IUSB Philharmonic\, the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra\, and in recitals throughout the area. \nMrs. Weiss is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at IUSB for the Raclin School of the Arts where she teaches organ. She is a past recipient of the IUSB Merit Status and Outstanding Alumni Awards. She holds a B.M.E from Manchester College and a M.M. in Piano from Indiana University. An educator as well as a performer\, she has taught music in the Elkhart and Goshen Community Schools and piano at Goshen College. Since 1975 she has held the position of Director of Music and Organist for the First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart. She is a frequent accompanist for the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra and performs several piano and organ concerts for the Lerner Theatre’s “Lunchtime Live!” each year. \nThe 1924 Kimball pipe organ located in Elkhart\, Indiana’s Lerner Theatre is one of only two Kimball pipe organs currently installed in its original location. The organ was restored following the 2011 renovation of the theatre which opened on Thanksgiving Day\, 1924. After the restoration\, a crew of nearly 20 from Bunn-Minnick Pipe Organs of Columbus\, Ohio\, spent three weeks hoisting equipment and filling the two pipe chambers with more than 1\,000 pipes. The album was certified Gold and has since reached certified Platinum\, and launched the group\, as well as fellow Chicago rapper Twista. \nJT MoneyJeffrey Jermaine Thompkins (born September 14\, 1972)\, better known by his stage name JT Money\, is an American rapper from Miami Florida\, He is the lead member of hip hop group Poison Clan\, and was a protégé of fellow Miami native Luther Luke Cambell and sign to Luke Records in 1990. His debut studio album\, Pimpin on Wax (1999)\, spawned the single Who Dat featuring Sole  which peaked at number five on the Billboard Charts. Thompkins was discovered by Luke Skywalker of the 2 Live Crew in a Miami talent show. Skyywalker signed JT Money and Debonaire as the group Poison Clan to his Luke RecordsIn 1990 JT Money and Debonaire released their first album as a group\, 2 Low Life Muthas. After this Debonaire left Poison Clan to join another group\, Home Team\, with his brother\, Drugzie also from the Poison Clan. Sibelius began writing the symphony in Rapallo\, Italy\, after the well-received premiere of his acclaimed symphonic poem\, Finlandia. Critics were divided following the symphony’s March 1902 premiere—performed by the Helsinki Orchestral Society\, with Sibelius conducting—but the public expressed overall admiration for the piece\, written during a period marked by Russian sanctions on Finnish language and culture. \nPenned the Symphony of Independence\, the vast and romantic Symphony No. 2 in D major\, Op. 43 was thought by many to represent the struggle for Finland’s independence. While some claim Sibelius did not directly intend any specific patriotic message\, others largely identified the work as a nationalist composition written with an independent Finland in mind. \nDouble Bass Concerto is a three-movement work composed by Serge Koussevitzky in 1902. Koussevitzky wrote this popular piece at a time of slim repertoire for the double bass\, as it was at that time considered to be an ensemble-only instrument. The concerto\, which the composer debuted in February 1905 with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra\, presents an array of technical challenges on the double bass\, including triplet and sixteenth passages with ambiguous\, cryptic bowings and double stops. \nPerhaps most widely known for his long tenure as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra\, Koussevitzky’s 1924 appointment as conductor of the BSO led to a golden era for the ensemble that continued until his tenure ended in 1949. The composer played a leading role in developing the BSO’s renowned summer concert and educational programs at Tanglewood\, where the 5\,700-seat main performance venue still bears his name. Koussevitzky’s students and protégés included the likes of Leonard Bernstein\, Eleazar de Carvalho\, Samuel Adler\, and Sarah Caldwell.
