SUMMARY:Art Walk - After Hours: The Erly
DESCRIPTION:Elkhart Art Walk\n \n Elkhart Music Town\n \n \n \n \n \n INDIE ROCK FROM THE GREAT LAKES! \nNiles\, Michigan’s The Erly came together in late 2017\, founded by vocalist/bassist Collin Mattiford and vocalist/drummer Fran Gleason. Guitarist and vocalist Trevor McDonald soon joined the lineup\, turning a last-minute “musician wanted” ad into a Craigslist success story. The band has since released three albums—Shadows (2018)\, Reckless (2021)\, and Culture Fever (2023)—building a loyal regional following with tracks like “Flame The Main\,” “Red Roof Inn\,” “Hey Amanda\,” and “Jasmine.”\n \nThe band’s trajectory took a sharp turn with the addition of keyboardist Simon Kauffman Hurst and the release of Salem Lights (2024). Featuring the singalong anthem “55 On The Other Side\,” the album propelled The Erly onto the national stage\, where they performed alongside acts like Sixpence None The Richer\, Cracker\, and Max.\n \nBlending structure with spontaneity\, The Erly delivers a “jam-adjacent” live sound that evolves with every performance. Their style weaves folk and Americana-inspired vocal harmonies with elements of jazz\, rock\, funk\, and soul\, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.\n \nOn August 21\, 2026\, The Erly will release Midnight River Show\, their fifth studio album.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ABOUT ART WALK AFTER HOURS \nElkhart Art Walk is expanding its footprint this season with the debut of Art Walk After Hours. Hosted on Central Green\, this high-energy concert series invites the community to stay late and experience a musical journey through time. \nThe series theme\, “Each show opens a portal to a different era\,” promises a curated selection of hits spanning the 1980s\, 1990s\, 2000s\, and today. Designed as a space “where the fans have a voice\,” the event emphasizes community engagement and the vibrant local music scene. \nThe 2026 Schedule (7:30 PM – 9:00 PM): \n\nMay 27\nJune 24\nJuly 29\nAugust 26\nSeptember 23\n\nIn partnership with Elkhart Artwalk\, The Lerner Theatre\, and Elkhart Music Town. Made possible by: Elkhart County CVB\, Friends of the Lerner\, and Community Foundation of Elkhart County. Art Walk After Hours embodies the spirit of “Live. Local. Loud.” \nAttendees are encouraged to enjoy the traditional Art Walk festivities downtown before heading to Central Green for the 7:30 p.m. performances. Admission is FREE! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Elkhart Art Walk\n \n Elkhart Music Town

SUMMARY:Songwriter's Spotlight: Nashville Unplugged
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n Step inside the stories behind country music’s biggest hits at a close-up evening in the Crystal Ballroom\, presented in partnership with Friends of The Lerner. This special event features three of Nashville’s most acclaimed songwriters—Kelly Archer\, whose chart-topping hits have been recorded by Carrie Underwood\, Jason Aldean\, and Cody Johnson; Gordie Sampson\, Grammy-winning writer of “Jesus\, Take The Wheel” and a creative force behind countless country favorites; and Lee Thomas Miller\, a three-time Grammy nominee with #1 songs for Brad Paisley\, Trace Adkins\, Tim McGraw\, and more. Together\, they will share the music\, stories\, and inspirations that shaped today’s country classics. \n \n \n \n \n \n Kelly Archer:  \nhttps://www.redcreativegroup.com/kellyarcher. \nOriginally from Vancouver\, B.C.\, Kelly has been a signed writer in Nashville for the past 20+ years and her songs have been recorded by Jason Aldean\, Reba\, Brett Young\, Trisha Yearwood\, Eli Young Band\, Bailey Zimmerman\, Dustin Lynch\, Corey Kent\, Cody Johnson\, Carrie Underwood\, Justin Moore and many more. Kelly has had several songs placed in the series “Nashville” as well as success in her native land of Canada. In the past few years\, Kelly has celebrated 5 #1 songs with Brett Young’s “Sleep Without You\,” Justin Moore’s “Somebody Else Will”\, Travis Denning’s “After A Few” and Corey Kent’s “Wild As Her”. Most recently Kelly celebrated a two week #1 with her song “I’m gonna love you” recorded by Cody Johnson ft. Carrie Underwood. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Gordie Sampson \nhttps://gordiesampson.com/. \nA brilliant writer\, an innovative producer\, a dynamic on-stage presence\, and a mentor to emerging writers\, Gordie’s musical genius and generosity is applauded by audiences and industry players alike. \nRaised in the community of Big Pond (pop. 47)\, near the rugged\, edge-of-the-world coastlines of Cape Breton\, Nova Scotia\, Sampson’s songwriting has taken him across the globe. But besides the island he hails from\, there might be no place in his story more important than Nashville\, Tennessee\, where he lives now with his family. He moved to Music City in 2005\, and in less than a year Carrie Underwood had recorded his own “Jesus\, Take The Wheel\,” which wound up at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for six weeks in a row and earned Gordie a Grammy for Best Country Song of the Year. Since then\, Sampson’s songs have been cut by a long list of established artists that includes Florida Georgia Line\, Luke Bryan\, Rascal Flatts\, Dan + Shay\, Hunter Hayes and Caitlyn Smith and by young up-and-comers like Carly Pearce\, Caylee Hammack and Tenille Townes. \nIt was a winding road to get here. He tore up the stage in high school and afterwards with his early bands\, did time playing and producing for fiddlin’ phenom Ashley MacIsaac\, toured with The Rankin Family\, and was part of Canadian folk music icon Rita MacNeil’s group on her weekly CBC show Rita and Friends. Sampson’s straight-to-the-heart tunes benefit from the weight of his expressive voice on his own records\, – his 1999 album Stones garnered a Juno Award nomination for Best Roots & Traditional Album and he has won numerous East Coast Music Awards. Although he doesn’t often take on outside projects\, he has appeared as a producer for records by The East Pointers and Port Cities. \nGordie heads back home to Canada every summer to spend time with family and friends in his beloved Cape Breton and to perform in the Maritimes\, where enthusiastic audiences welcome him\, year after year.  From 2010-2019 he ran The Gordie Sampson Songcamp\, a retreat that gives young songwriters the opportunity to develop their skills and build relationships with their peers\, and promotes learning in pursuit of artistic excellence. Numerous Songcampers\, including Mo Kenney\, the members of roots/pop group Port Cities\, Dave Sampson and Kyle Mischiek (Sunsetto)  have gone on to build their own successful musical careers. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Lee Thomas Miller:  \nhttp://www.leethomasmiller.com. \nHometown: Nicholasville\, KentuckyBachelor degree in Music Theory/Composition(Eastern Kentucky University 1990) \nFORMER PRESIDENT OF THE NASHVILLE SONGWRITER’S ASSOCIATION (NSAI) \n3 Time Grammy Award Nominee:2003 Grammy nomination :“The Impossible” (Joe Nichols) Country Song of the Year:2009 Double Grammy nomination :“You’re Gonna Miss This”(Trace Adkins)-  Country Song of the Year“In Color” (Jamey Johnson)- Country Song of the Year \nMusic Row Magazine: Breakthrough Songwriter of the year 2003 \nAwarded one of NSAI’s  ‘Ten Songs I Wish I Had Written’ 2003: “The Impossible” \nAwarded one of NSAI’s  ‘Ten Songs I Wish I Had Written’ 2008: “You’re Gonna Miss This” \nWon Song of the Year at the 2008 NSAI awards for “You’re Gonna Miss This” \nNominated for Song of the Year at 2008 CMA awards for “You’re Gonna Miss This” \n2009 Double ACM Nominee: “You’re Gonna Miss This” and “In Color” for Song of the Year \nWon Song of the Year at the 2009 ACM awards for “In Color” \nWon Music Row Magazine’s 2009 Song of the Year  for  “In Color” \nAwarded one of NSAI’s  ‘Ten Songs I Wish I Had Written’ 2009: “In Color” \nWon Song of the Year at the 2009 CMA awards for “In Color” \nAwarded BMI’s inaugural “Champion’s Award” 2015 \nNominated for Song of the Year at the 2018 ACM awards for “Whiskey and You” \n#1 Country Singles:  “The Impossible”  (Joe Nichols)**                       “I Just Wanna Be Mad”  (Terri Clark)**                       “The World”   (Brad Paisley)**                       “You’re Gonna Miss This”  (Trace Adkins)*                       “I’m Still A Guy”  (Brad Paisley)                         “Southern Girl”  (Tim McGraw)                           “Perfect Storm” (Brad Paisley) \n(*received BMI Million Play Award)(**received BMI 2 Million Play Award) \n·Other top 10 singles:“It Matters To Her” (Scotty McCreery) #2“It Aint My Fault” (Brothers Osborne) #9“Crushin’ It” (Brad Paisley) #7“In Color”  (Jamey Johnson) #7“Nothing To Die For” (Tim McGraw)  #5“Jesus In Disguise” (Brandon Heath)  #8“Just A Girl” (Brandon Heath) #8 \n·      Other top 20 singles: “Without A Fight” (Brad Paisley/Demi Lovato) #14“People Loving People” (Garth Brooks) #19“Something To Do With My Hands” (Thomas Rhett) #15“Crying On A Suitcase” (Casey James) #14“Leaving Eden” (Brandon Heath) #17“Thought About You” (Tim McGraw) #1 \nCuts include: Jason Aldean\, Tim McGraw\, Chris Stapleton\, Rascal Flatts\, George Strait\, Jamey Johnson\, Trace Adkins\, Garth Brooks\, Dierks Bentley\, Brad Paisley\, Brothers Osborne\, Thomas Rhett\, Joe Nichols\, Josh Turner\, Terri Clark\, John Michael Montgomery\, Montgomery Gentry\, Sammy Kershaw\, Andy Griggs\, Tracy Byrd\, Tracy Lawrence\, Randy Travis\, Billy Currington\, Chris Young\, Rodney Adkins\, Craig Morgan \nProduction credits include  Curb recording artist Steve Holy including the 2006 #1 single: “Brand New Girlfriend” and 2010 top 20 single “Love Don’t Run” \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Get Tickets

SUMMARY:Midland: The Lerner 100 Year Grand Event

For lead singer Mark Wystrach\, bassist/vocalist Cameron Duddy and guitarist/vocalist Jess Carson\, the five-times platinum hit “Drinkin’ Problem” set the stage for their critically acclaimed On The Rocks and No. 1 Billboard Top Country Albums debut Let It Roll to unite classic country fans\, hipsters and media including Entertainment Weekly\, GQ\, The Washington Post\, Vogue\, Esquire\, Variety\, Rolling Stone and NPR. Based in Dripping Springs\, Texas\, the trio of songwriters who developed their sound at Tornillo\, Texas’ storied Sonic Ranch have been building a following that’s sold-out the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show\, packed a multiple-night stand at Ft. He’s also garnered attention from Rolling Stone Country\, CMT\, Taste of Country\, Raised Rowdy\, and Sounds Like Nashville among others. \nWith a high energy live show and unique heartland-rock-meets-country sound\, Matt has been asked to open for artists like Travis Tritt\, Chris Young\, Kip Moore\, Granger Smith and dozens of others and had his music placed on Spotify Editorial Playlists like Country Rocks\, New Music Friday Country\, Next From Nashville and Fresh Finds: Country. \nMatt released his debut full length album\, “The Gamble” in 2022. His single “Wrangler” was shared on the official Jeep Instagram and Tik Tok profiles and featured on Shawn Parr’s Across The Country\, a syndicated radio show airing in 54 markets across the United States. His second full length album\, “Low Lights” was released in February 2024. \nWHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYINGAmerican Songwriter’s Jason Scott proclaims: “Jordan carries with him a very similar rock-informed country style ─ almost feeling like Eric Church with an outlaw bravado. ‘Smoke’ is unapologetically radio-ready\, from its infectious hook and polished exterior. And more than anything\, his voice remains tried and true\, unique enough to stand firmly on its own.” \nThe Boot speaks of his style as “a bit of Bruce Springsteen in Jordan’s vaguely raspy vocals…. A heartland rock-influenced bit of nostalgia. \nSounds Like Nashville’s Annie Reuter wrote: “Jordan’s whiskey soaked vocals combined with Brooker’s cosmic lyrical imagery paints the picture of a young couple seeking adventure far away from their hometown. The descriptive verses and warm guitar parts intrigue and as the song picks up the listener is along for the ride thanks to a rollicking beat and arena-ready chorus.” \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cocktails & Live Music • 7:00 PM\nGuests of this event can come early and enhance your experience with a selection of cocktails and live music in the Lerner Grand Lobby at 7:00 p.m. \nJake Miller and the Midwest Heat\nJake Miller and The Midwest Heat are a dynamic band at the intersection of country\, blues\, and rock ‘n roll. Formed in the heartland of Indiana\, U.S.\, this ensemble brings together the raw energy of classic rock with the storytelling richness of American roots music. The band fluctuates in size depending on the occasion\, but whether performing solo\, as a duo\, trio\, or even up to an eight piece band\, the music and storytelling is the focus. They are celebrated for their high-energy live shows and their ability to seamlessly blend music across decades and genres. Their motto is “A good song is a good song” and don’t limit themselves to any one genre or time period. Their music resonates with audiences through their authentic\, heartfelt delivery and their ability to evoke a wide range of emotions\, from raucous joy to introspective melancholy. \n \n Sponsorship Opportunities Available\n \n Get Tickets

SUMMARY:Lerner on the Lawn - Hooked Like Helen
DESCRIPTION:In a house in the woods about 40 miles west of Cleveland\, Hooked Like Helen began as the musical brainstorms of husband-and-wife\, Jon and Nikki Stipp. Experimental home recordings quickly developed into an alt-pop vision; within a year of the project’s inception\, Nikki and Jon had shaped a new sound that reflected their truth and their influences in a seamless blend of organic and electronic production. The band’s 2019 five song EP\, Tragedy Of Physics\, co-produced by Nikki and long-time friend and collaborator\, Grammy-winning Isha Erskine (Ziggy Marley\, The Black Eyed Peas)\, garnered international attention: The music video for the angsty-beautiful piano ballad “Liar” premiered on Radio Disney platforms and received a nomination for Best Independent Music Video from the esteemed Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The song was included in an emotional scene in the motion picture\, High Strung: Free Dance and subsequently generated a flood of streams and downloads via the film’s soundtrack. Starring Thomas Doherty (Disney’s Descendants 2 and 3)\, and Jane Seymour\, the film was released on Netflix on May 31st\, 2020 and prominently features “Liar” in an emotional\, groundbreaking dance sequence choreographed by Tyce Diorio (So You Think You Can Dance\, Taylor Swift’s ‘ME!’) \nHooked Like Helen is the recent recipient of several prestigious accolades in the independent music scene: Nikki and Jon were honored with Duo Of The Year and EP Of The Year at the 6th and 7th annual Josie Music Awards respectively\, boasting a total of 9 nominations in multiple categories of the largest independent award show in the world. “Liar” was recently named a winner in the distinguished International Songwriting Competition for the second consecutive year\, following wins in two categories in ISC’s sister competition\, Unsigned Only in 2020. The panel of judges included Charli XCX\, Robert Smith and Grouplove among other well-respected industry legends. \nHooked Like Helen’s Tragedy Of Physics EP has been decorated with acclaim by several leading music publications. The first single\, “No Turning Back”\, was premiered by CLASH Magazine who praised it as “a soaring\, vastly uplifting piece of bouncy\, addictive alt-pop”. The EP’s 2nd single\, “Tear This Place Apart”\, premiered via the highly influential UK-based The Line Of Best Fit and received rave reviews from the magazine. \nNikki and Jon have managed to flourish musically during a period of instability in the world and the band is incredibly humbled and grateful to be thriving. 2020 began with a set of custom musical placements in the wildly popular\, 3 time Emmy winning Netflix docu-series\, CHEER. Nikki composed tracks for 9 pivotal scenes across the 6 episode series\, including the final credits for episodes 2 and 3. The 2021 Sports Emmy-nominated docu-series\, Golden: The Journey of USA’s Elite Gymnasts  features 7 pieces of music composed by Nikki\, courtesy of her working relationship with BMG. Hooked Like Helen has a bit of a history of scoring music for docu-series’; previously\, the band’s tracks “Get Well”\, “Surface Break”\, and “Concrete Tub” were placed on MTV’s Unlocking The Truth and were included on the show’s official Spotify playlist. “Surface Break” was also featured in the emotional final segment of Davis Guggenheim’s poignant documentary\, The Dream Is Now which chronicles the struggles of the children of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. \nThe band enjoyed several very successful live residencies at world-renowned Cedar Point in 2020 and 2021\, performing for a diverse and international audience who immediately adored Hooked Like Helen’s universal musical appeal and dynamic\, energetic stage show. Other notable performances include a set at the beautiful 1700 seat Lerner Theatre in Elkhart Indiana this past summer in which the band wowed a local audience during a community Artwalk Festival.  In May 2020\, during the first chapter of the COVID pandemic\, the duo had the privilege of playing a livestream from the historic 1500 seat Sandusky State Theatre. This show was broadcast to local fans via the Sandusky Register and became the last live performance to occur on the Sandusky State Theatre stage before the iconic venue was severely damaged in a storm on June 10th. Fox 8 News Cleveland aired clips from the Hooked Like Helen livestream on June 12th\, 2020. \nHooked Like Helen recently signed with international booking agency\, TKO (The Ataris\, Soul Asylum). The band is currently collaborating with several talented and well-established producers in Music City including the multi GRAMMY award-winning\, platinum-selling Skidd Mills and the brilliant Noah Henson (Pillar\, Brantley Gilbert). The band’s new single\, “Streamers & Balloons” was released on October 28th and their cover of “Winter” by Tori Amos premiered on Cleveland Scene Magazine on January 6th. \nHooked Like Helen’s sound embodies a unique vein of alternative music; dark lyrical themes of unresolved trauma and existential pondering provide a refreshingly authentic perspective. The rawness of Nikki’s voice pulls the listener through heavy subject matter on a vessel of commercially friendly sonic sensibilities. This stark juxtaposition of darkness and light creates a sort of musical chemical reaction that lingers on the mind long after the first listen. A lush universe of layered harmonies and intricately woven polyphony carry us through a chaotic and sad world view but leave us almost inexplicably with a sense of hope. The songs of Hooked Like Helen exist in a timeless\, ageless vacuum in which melody reigns supreme.

SUMMARY:Lerner on the Lawn - David Bennett
DESCRIPTION:“Bennett is a player superbly well balanced between purity and power. Bennett injects three heady shots of adrenalin that bring the music sharply to life.” \n– Downbeat Magazine \nDave Bennett doesn’t fit the mold. \nFor starters\, you don’t find many jazz clarinet players who name Alice Cooper\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, and Chris Isaak among their influences. You won’t find many musicians who are equally conversant with the music of Benny Goodman (the “King of Swing”) and Roy Orbison (“The Soul of Rock and Roll”). In fact\, you may not find even one other clarinet virtuoso who breaks from his Swing Era repertoire to sing rockabilly hits while accompanying himself at the piano or electric guitar. \nDave began his national touring career at the age of 14. He has been a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall with The New York Pops (2013) and has been featured with 35 other US and Canadian orchestras including Nashville\, Houston\, Detroit\, Rochester\, Omaha\, Toronto\, Calgary\, Vancouver\, Orlando\, San Antonio\, Jacksonville\, Portland\, OR and Portland\, ME. Some of his annual appearances include The Elkhart Jazz Festival\, The Suncoast Classic Jazz Festival\, The Arizona Classic Jazz Festival\, The Sacramento Hot Jazz Jubilee\, The Clambake Music Festival\, and The Redwood Coast Music Festival. \nDave has been featured on NPR Radio’s “Jazz at Riverwalk.” He made his European debut in 2008 at The Bern Jazz Festival (Switzerland) in a combo with jazz legends and Benny Goodman band alumni guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and vibraphonist\, the late Peter Appleyard. \nIn March 2022\, Dave and his band performed to a sold-out audience at New York City’s Birdland Theater. \nDave is a recording artist on jazz label Mack Avenue Records. His second release\, Blood Moon reached No. 24 on the Billboard Jazz charts in 2018. \nDuring the isolation of the pandemic\, fate steered Dave’s time off the road into a bold new direction. He put his guitar pedal to the metal and stepped away from his beloved clarinet. A songwriter stepped forward. Road songs\, reverb-laded guitar solos that could power a surf documentary\, and memories of loves and lives lost are the mile markers that makeup his latest release “Nowhere Fast”. His first full-length rock album is a deep\, soul-searching joyride through the back streets of his mind. \nLeave it to Dave Bennett to prove that sometimes the best way to move forward is to go back to the beginnings of what drives you.
