Kimball Organ Series: Peter Pan
Thursday, September 10, 2020 @ 7:00 pm$10
Peter Pan (Betty Bronson) enters the nursery of the Darling children and, with the help of fairy dust, leads them off to Never Never Land, where they meet the nefarious Captain Hook. Peter Pan is a lavish silent fantasy that captures the fairy tale magic of flying children, wicked pirates, and a wondrous storybook land where kids never grow up.
Featuring organist Brett Valliant. Brett is an organist enjoying opportunities to play the music he loves on the instrument he loves. Whether at an organ in a concert hall, a majestic church organ on Sunday morning, a mighty Wurlitzer in a theatre, or a Hammond B-3 in a jazz club, Brett is right at home. Critics internationally have defined his performances as “exciting,” refreshing, “unorthodox, and astonishing.” In the world of silent film, Brett Valliant is well known for for scoring and accompanying many films but is best known for dramatic films such as King of Kings, Phantom of the Opera, The Ten Commandments, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Wings, and The Eagle. He plays annually for several film festivals including the International Film Festival hosted by the American Film Institute, and has been a featured performer at national conventions of the American Guild of Organists and the American Theatre Organ Society. He has toured extensively as a solo artist, featured soloist with orchestras, and film accompanist in 48 states of the US as well as abroad.
